Russian River Trip on September 11-12th

On September 11 – 12th, Troop 57/4057 scouts had a great time canoeing and ziplining. Bagels were toasted over the fire, hotdogs were made, and marshmallows were roasted.
Led by Brandon Cui, Mr. Hsiu, and Ms. Su.
Coordinator: Hua Ai

  • 28 scouts and 12 adults attended
  • Departed at noon on Sept 11
  • Spent one night camping
  • Canoed more than 5 miles
  • Rappelled more than 30ft

Before setting up our tents, we ziplined across the great redwood trees. The trees swayed in the wind, and you could feel them move. There were two different levels and many zips in each. At the end, we rappelled down to ground level and went to go set up our tents.

Canoeing down the river was challenging because some parts had barely any water and were too shallow to go through. Canoeing was great and getting stuck was the bet part about it. My group was not the best a steering and we would always get tangled in bushes.
