This morning 5/25, Scouts from both Troop 57 and 4057 came together for a meaningful annual tradition at the Golden Gate National Cemetery. This event is a testament to the unity and dedication of our Scouts, from the youngest Cub Scouts to the seasoned Scouts, all working together to honor the brave men and women who served our country. Golden Gate National Cemetery, established in 1937, spans over 161 acres and is the final resting place for more than 138,000 veterans and their family members. Among these hallowed grounds lie notable figures such as Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, General Alexander M. Patch, and many other distinguished service members whose sacrifices have paved the way for our freedoms. In the spirit of the Scout Oath and Law, our Scouts demonstrated their commitment to duty and honor. Living by the principles of being trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent, they meticulously placed flags on each grave, ensuring that every fallen hero was remembered and respected. We were honored to be joined by Troop 57 alumni and 2018 Eagle Scouts, Bryan Look and Jaiveer Sandhu. Their continued involvement and leadership serve as a powerful example to our current Scouts of the lasting impact and values instilled through Scouting. This event not only connects us with our history but also reinforces the values that guide us as Scouts. We are reminded of our duty to country and community, striving to be better citizens and leaders, guided by the principles of the Scout Oath and Law. Thank you to all the Scouts, leaders, and families who participated and made this event a profound tribute to our nation’s heroes. Your dedication and service uphold the very essence of what it means to be a Scout. Together, we continue to honor the legacy of those who have served, ensuring that their memories and sacrifices are never forgotten.
