On the weekend of August 19 and 20, Troop 57 and 4057 did a combined troop outing to Henry Coe. After arriving at Henry Coe, both troops had to backpack around two and a half miles to the campsite. For the trip, a majority of the provisions were carried by the scouts, but some heavier equipment such as stoves were trucked into the campsite. The troops set out early in the afternoon, carrying their backpacks filled with camping equipment, food, and water. They hiked along the well-marked trails that winded through rolling hills and lush woodlands. After arriving at the campsite around 16:30, all of the patrols in each troop respectively made camp and started to cook dinner. Some patrols made chili and hamburgers for dinner. Once finished with eating dinner, both troops came back together to make skits in their patrols. Every patrol was given a random prompt and could use any props that the troop leaders had. Each patrol from 4057 and 57 presented each of their creative skits and the winning patrols got Oreos. Afterwards, everyone went back to their tents to rest up for the return hike. In the morning, each patrol woke up and prepared breakfast before leaving the campsite. All of the patrols broke down camp and prepared to hike back 2.5 miles. All of the patrols arrived back the at Henry Coe around noon and then drove home.
